The capitol of Denmark is very enjoyable place during summer holidays. The weather is warm, but not hot – perfect for those, who prefer spending their time in an active way. There are plenty of tourist attractions – museums, art galleries, amusement parks, restaurants and pubs. Everybody will find something for themselves.

Copenhagen is beautiful, historical city with many antique buildings – the oldest section – the Amagertorv square – is date back to Middle Ages. Town is also known as “the City of spires” – there are plenty of old churches and castles with very tall towers. But even admirer of modern architecture will be pleased – during recent decade, a lot of modern constructions was completed.

If you are traveling with children, Copenhagen is a right place to visit. It has the two oldest amusement parks on the world, Dyrehavsbakken and Tivoli Gardens. Although first one is situated outside Copenhagen, it is worth seeing. First mention of it is dating back to XVI century! It is old fashioned funfair, so its better for small children than teenagers. Second one is mostly for adults, but kids will also find something for themselves. You can find there one of the oldest roller coaster on the world.

City is known for good cuisine – fifteen restaurant with Micheline star are situated here. Also, you can check out plenty of small bistros, offering ethnic, dannish food. Most popular lunch dish in Copenhagen is smørrebrød – sandwich includes dinner leftovers – like cold meat, fish and cheese. Carlsberg, most popular dannish beer, is brewed in Copenhagen. You can take a tour of brewery, and get to know how beer is distilling.

If you like to stay up late at night, you are in a right place. Most of bars and pubs are open till six a.m. or even longer. City has very liberal alcohol culture, so feel free if you like to party, but remember to behave in a proper way. During summer time in Copenhagen several community festivals are taking place. Most popular is Copenhell, music festival gathered fans of heavy metal, rock and punk rock.

Capitol of Denmark is a nice place to visit, both family with children and younger people will be glad. If you are an active person you won’t be bored – you can take a walk around town and visit art gallery or museum. And if you like to spend lazy weekend it is also fine – just go to amusement park, eat delicious food in one of restaurant and at night have fun in one of bars.
